Nearby parks, trails and lakes are all within close proximity to enjoy the outdoors. The scenic views of the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood and the Cascade Mountains are definitely an added bonus to living in Washougal.
There are several parks in the area that offer many hiking and biking trails, such as the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail, Hamilton Mountain or Washougal Waterfront Park and Trail. The Franz Lake National Wildlife Refuge and Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge are only a few places that are good for bird watching. Fishing and water sports such as paddleboarding, swimming, boating and kayaking are options at one of the many lakes or rivers.
