Schools in Vancouver
Vancouver is served by two schools, Vancouver School District and the Evergreen School District. The Evergreen School District sits between the Vancouver and Camas School Districts. The Vancouver School District provides public education from the Downtown Vancouver area, reaching a few miles north, as well as neighborhoods to the east. According to GreatSchools.org, Vancouver schools tend to be rated above average. However, the schools in this area are not rated as high as other Vancouver neighborhoods. George C Marshall Elementary School was given a below average rating of 4/10 but, even lower ratings were given to McLoughlin Middle School with a 2/10 rating and Fort Vancouver High School with a 1/10 rating. While these ratings are not great, living just a little further out can make a big difference in the education that a resident child can get. The Evergreen schools didn't fare much better than the Vancouver School District. Orchards Elementary School and Covington Middle School only received 2/10 ratings, but Silver Star Elementary managed a 4/10 rating and Glenwood Heights Primary School a 5/10 rating.
Vancouver is also home to a 2 year college, Clark College and an extension campus of Washington State University Vancouver offering 4 year programs. Clark College offers associate's degrees and opportunities for students to speed up the process of receiving a 4 year degree. WSU Vancouver is able to offer bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
