The Mt. Tabor neighborhood can be found in Southeast Portland between SE 49th on the west, SE 76th on the east and between E Burnside St on the north and SE Division St on the south. Mt. Tabor consists mostly of residential properties with a few food and nightlife options; however its close proximity to other neighborhoods such as the Hawthorne District make more options easily available. Mt. Tabor does have some local businesses offering such as coffee shops and small hole-in-the-wall restaurants that are waiting to be discovered. A wonderfully charming, tight knit community is what you will find in Mt. Tabor.
Mt.Tabor is home to one of the largest parks in Southeast Portland, Mount Tabor Park. There are plenty of activities available for everyone. The Portland Public School District serves the Mt. Tabor neighborhood with some of the best schools that the district has to offer. According to GreatSchools.org, Lincoln High School and Glencoe Elementary School were both given an 8/10 rating and Mt. Tabor Middle School was given a slightly below average rating of 4/10.
