Living in The Humboldt Neighborhood

Similar to activity in nearby neighborhoods, Portland real estate in Humboldt is enjoying the benefits of restoration. The sturdy homes of Humboldt tend toward American foursquare and traditional bungalows with broad porches and front facing dormers.

Portland Community College-Cascade Campus at N. Killingsworth and N. Albina is a community asset and has a major presence in the neighborhood with students and faculty. Killingsworth Street has several really great local businesses to choose from including coffee shops and bars. Williams Avenue offers even more independent retail and boutiques. Locals here probably spend a lot of their time on Mississippi Avenue since they can walk there in less than five minutes or bike in a flash. Mississippi has nearly a dozen great restaurants, great coffee shops, several bars and a lot of retail and boutique shops. It should also be noted that Humboldt and Mississippi are home to mostly independent businesses.
