If it seems like it’s getting harder and harder to find on-street parking in Portland, that’s because it likely is.
As the city continues adding people and new residential units rise, some with limited parking options, it can be a frustrating exercise in patience to circle the blocks in search of a place to park.
Real estate information company Trulia recently partnered with parking data firm Parknav to find the best and worst neighborhoods for street parking in seven major cities, including Portland. The firms analyzed parking during peak weekday and weekend times.
They also studied rental properties to see where renters were most likely to find a garage or other parking spot as part of their property.
For the latter part of the study, Trulia found that renters in the South Burlingame, Alameda, Cedar Hills and the Pearl District were in the top five neighborhoods for landing a private parking.
